Lift Cancer Care Services is proud to introduce the Lift Clinical Fellowship: Lymphoedema Physiotherapy Stream.
This funded fellowship is designed for an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who is ready to transition into specialist oncology and lymphoedema practice.
At Lift, we believe lymphoedema care should be proactive, evidence-based and integrated into cancer treatment pathways. Through this fellowship, we are investing in the future workforce needed to support people living with and beyond cancer.
What the Fellowship Includes
The successful applicant will receive full support to complete Accredited Lymphoedema training through Macquarie University, recognised by the Australasian Lymphology Association.
The fellowship includes:
Funding for both mandatory foundational lymphoedema units
Funding for regional training units:
Lymphoedema Practice for the Upper Limb and Breast
Lymphoedema Practice for the Lower Limb and Genital Region
Return flights from the fellow’s closest capital city to Sydney
Attendance at the face-to-face practical training in Sydney, 7th - 10th July 2026
Structured clinical mentoring and supervision within Lift
Integration into a highly experienced multidisciplinary oncology team
A physiotherapy position at Lift following completion of training
The Lift Clinical Fellowship represents a significant investment in workforce development, with a total fellowship value of approximately $5,000–$7,000.

Access to skilled lymphoedema practitioners remains limited across Australia. Lift is committed to changing this.
Through the Lift Clinical Fellowship, we aim to:
Grow specialist clinical capability in oncology care
Improve patient access to high-quality lymphoedema management
Strengthen integrated cancer care pathways
Support physiotherapists seeking meaningful career progression
Who Should Apply
We are seeking applications from Physiotherapists who:
Have minimum 5+ years musculoskeletal physiotherapy experience
Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills
Have a genuine interest in oncology rehabilitation and chronic disease care
Are motivated to build expertise in lymphoedema assessment and management
Value multidisciplinary teamwork and patient-centred care
Are excited by innovation and leadership within supportive cancer care
Prior oncology experience is welcomed but not essential.
What You’ll Be Doing at Lift
Following completion of training, the scholarship recipient will:
Assess and manage lymphoedema across upper and lower limb presentations
Support cancer patients across treatment and survivorship phases
Work closely with oncology exercise physiologists, dietitians, psychologists and medical specialists
Contribute to Lift’s clinical innovation, service development and patient education initiatives
Be supported through structured mentoring and ongoing professional development
Fellowship Commitment
To ensure continuity of care and meaningful workforce development, the successful applicant will commit to a minimum two-year employment period at Lift Cancer Care Services following completion of training.
