Susan’s Story

Susan’s Story - Receiving treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Everyone who walks into Lift brings with them a unique story. In this short video, Susan shares her cancer story, how it felt to be diagnosed with cancer and her experience at Lift.

“I'm an archaeologist, except when I'm having cancer” explains Susan.

“I was diagnosed with follicular B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, on the 11th of February this year. And it was hugely unexpected.”

Susan found out about Lift when she went to an information session about what was going to happen during her treatment.

“Probably the first impression I had of Lift was people that were really friendly and cared and smiled and looked like they were happy that you were there and keen to provide a really good service.”

“You can also feel real empathy. Everyone at Lift has had some experience of cancer and that really shows through.”

”I would recommend Lift to anyone going through cancer, because when you come in, you're treated as an individual person. You are more important than the cancer. The cancer is something that is there, but it's not the be all and end all, it's you as an individual.”
