Exercise is medicine

Not convinced that exercise is an important part of cancer treatment? This clip featured on ABCs Catalyst looks at the role of exercise medicine in cancer treatment and challenges some of the 'old' thinking around this area.

What type of exercise should you do?

There is no one size fits all answer to this question. Everyone is different and in order to prescribe safe and appropriate exercise, a thorough examination is required. Factors that need to be considered include your type of cancer, any surgery you have had, your past and current treatment, your past medical history and any injuries, pains or limitations you may have.

Once all of this information is collected, an exercise medicine prescription can be designed FOR YOU.

When should you start Exercise Medicine at Lift?

As soon as you can!

Your initial visit to Lift will take 90 minutes and will allow our experienced clinicians to complete a full assessment and determine the safest way for you to access Exercise Medicine. Following this visit, an individualised exercise prescription will be designed for you. This exercise prescription will be kept at Lift and ready for you to start at your next visit.
