Practice Manager

Full-Time

Join our team and make an immediate impact

Lift Cancer Care Services is a unique, purpose-built oncology service operating as both an accredited day hospital and a multidisciplinary allied health clinic, delivering Exercise Medicine, Physiotherapy, Lymphoedema Services, Dietetics and Psychology under a world-leading integrated model of care.

We are recognised as leaders in oncology exercise medicine, delivering evidence-based care to people living with cancer in a complex, high-volume clinical environment. Our work sits at the intersection of hospital-level governance and fast-paced outpatient care, requiring strong systems, clear decision-making, and operational discipline.

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on, exceptional Practice Manager who thrives in pace, complexity, and responsibility. This is a key operational leadership role, working closely with the Operations Manager and senior clinical leaders to ensure Lift runs smoothly, safely, and at speed.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to daily operations, makes confident decisions, is comfortable carrying a high level of responsibility and holding others accountable, approaches their work with a growth mindset, takes ownership in their role, and takes pride in maintaining high standards in a demanding environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day non-clinical operations of Lift across both our day hospital and allied health outpatient services. You will be actively involved in managing workflows, solving problems in real time, and ensuring operational systems perform reliably in a fast-moving setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving daily operational performance across administrative and Exercise Medicine services

  • Managing and optimising bookings, assessments, and overall clinic flow

  • Providing direct, visible leadership to the admin team and setting clear daily priorities

  • Monitoring operational checklists, confirmations, and follow-ups, and acting quickly when gaps appear

  • Responding to and resolving patient concerns and operational issues as they arise

  • Ensuring referrals, documentation, and appointment details are accurate and clinician-ready

  • Monitoring daily financial processes, correcting errors promptly, and following up private health insurance excesses

  • Supporting reconciliation and billing workflows across Medicare, private and compensable funding streams

  • Developing, maintaining, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures that support safe and efficient care

  • Coordinating onboarding, training, and orientation for new staff

  • Tracking mandatory competencies and credentialing requirements

  • Supporting accreditation and NSQHS readiness through documentation, audits, and quality checks

  • Acting as the first point of escalation for day-to-day operational issues and making timely decisions

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You will be well suited to this role if you:

  • Have experience in healthcare, allied health, hospital, or practice management

  • Enjoy working in complex, fast-paced clinical environments

  • Are confident leading people and addressing issues early and directly

  • Are highly organised, decisive, and comfortable juggling competing priorities

  • Can move quickly without compromising accuracy, compliance, or patient experience

  • Are comfortable managing financial workflows and fixing errors as they arise

  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally under pressure

  • Are proficient with Microsoft 365 and practice management systems

  • Understand the importance of confidentiality, governance, and quality in healthcare

Experience working in accredited healthcare services and familiarity with NSQHS Standards will be highly regarded.

WHY JOIN LIFT?

  • Work in a truly unique clinical environment combining hospital-level governance with allied health delivery

  • Take on a visible leadership role with real operational responsibility
