R U OK? Day

September 9th is R U OK? Day a reminder to start a conversation that could change a life.

The message? Ask them today. Don’t wait until someone’s visibly distressed or in crisis.

Make a moment meaningful and ask R U OK? If they’re struggling with something big, something small or even nothing at all, they’ll know you care. You aren’t expected to fix everyone’s problems or know the best way to help and support. But you can listen to what your friend is saying, let them know you care and tell someone, like a trusted adult, if you are worried about them.

In this short video, Lift Clinical Psychologist Nicole Ferrar talks about RUOK Day and how you can apply this to the people in your life.
